My social issue is the Hong Kong handover. For my oil pastel piece, I did it based on the Hong Kong nightime fireworks. I tried to prevent the color of white in my piece because including white would look unrealistic.I used dark blue for the sky and light blue for the sea to show the time of the day. I used different colors for each group of fireworks to communicate different meanings. The orange fireworks mean happiness. The green fireworks mean life and well being.  In order to show color contrast, I mixed up the colors togthers.

 

For the photography sqaure, this is a photo of the Hong Kong’s Tsim Tsa Tsui’s nightview with the help of Photo Booth photo effects. It is significant because the nightview of Hong Kong has changed a lot after the handover of Hong Kong to China.

 

For the pencil square, this is a sketch that I have created based on a Hong Kong HKD$20 banknote which is also an object which has changed after the Hong Kong handover.
